Audi has launched a sporty new all-electric family coupe.
Priced from around £70,000, the aerodynamic Audi e-tron Sportback aims to combine the elegance of a four-door coupe with the space of an SUV and the green credentials of a battery-powered vehicle with a range of up to 278 miles.
One of its headline-grabbing features is innovative digital matrix LED lights that are so advanced they can create a carpet of light that’s restricted to the lane you’re using and even project bespoke beamed patterns onto the tarmac ahead.
I was fortunate enough to experience the new zero-emission model in the flesh, which has just been unveiled at this year’s LA motor show.
e-tron Sportback: The svelte new SUV, with a sloped coupe-like roofline, will be available to order (minus the crazy camouflage scheme seen here) at the end of the month
It will feature innovative digital matrix LED leadlights, which have the functionality to beam customised patterns onto the road ahead
